“The World Economic Forum Global Risk Report 2024 estimates that nearly 521,000 Australian homes are predicted to be uninsurable by 2030 due to the risks of extreme weather.”

In short:

Climate Valuation chief executive Karl Mallon says the rate at which houses are deemed uninsurable is increasing.

Analysts expect banks will start turning down mortgages in high-risk areas.
